Google Ads: a lead as a conversion
Every lead goes to Google Ads as a conversion. The phone is sent for enhanced conversions, and the gclid is kept with the lead.
What goes to Google Ads
Only a sent lead counts as a conversion, so campaigns optimize for the result, not for clicks on a button.
- conversionA lead was sent. Goes with the product's price and currency.
- transaction_idThe lead's id. If the form is sent again, the conversion isn't doubled.
- user_dataThe buyer's phone for enhanced conversions. Google's tag turns it into a hash itself.
- gclidThe click id is remembered for a day and kept in the lead.
How to connect
You need two values from the conversion's settings.
- Create a “Lead” conversion
In Google Ads: Goals, Conversions, a new conversion for a website.
- Copy the ID and the label
In the tag setup, find the
send_toline, likeAW-123456789/AbCdEf. The conversion ID is before the slash, the label after it. - Paste them into Tersby
Ad accounts, the account you need, the Google Ads block: conversion ID and label.
